Hello to all parents and students,

I am delighted to be Head of Year for Grade 8 this year.

School starts tomorrow, Thursday 20th August

Students should find their tutor class by checking the class lists outside my office (next to the Secondary Office) prior to 7am on Thursday.

Students should be in their tutor rooms at 7.00 a.m. when their tutor will take the register. 

Students arriving after the second bell will be considered late to registration.
The Secondary School works on a 2 week timetable - Week A and Week B. This week is Week A. 

The first lesson begins at 7.20 a.m. and each lesson is 55 minutes long. Students have 2 break times at 10.05 a.m. and 12.20 p.m. The day ends at 2.00 p.m. when students prepare to go home at 2:10 pm, go to the LRC to work or join extra-curricular classes or Team Sports until 3.00 pm.

Secondary school pick up is at 2:10 pm

As you know we consider the uniform to be of great pride and we expect the students to wear it in the same way.

Boys:
Navy blue trousers, white short-sleeved shirt with school badge, red tie, black socks, formal black school shoes and black belts. Top buttons are to be done up and ties properly tied with shirts tucked in. Boys’ hair should be smart, cut around their ears and it should not extend over their collar.

Girls:
School skirt (no more than 2 inches above the knee), white short-sleeved blouse with school badge, red tie, white ankle socks and black flat school shoes. Shirts are to be tucked in properly. No make-up or nail varnish may be worn.

PE uniform (can be found below) should only be worn on PE days, which are Monday and Wednesday in Week A and Wednesday only in Week B.

We ask that students in KS3 do not bring in their own laptops or iPads to school, also we do not encourage even cell phones but if they have one we ask for it to be a simple telephone and we remind you it has to be off when they arrive into school and can be turned back on at 2:00 p.m.They also need a lock with 2 keys, one for them and one to keep with the tutor.

Your Art teacher will tell you what you need.
ICT
A USB Memory stick is recommended for students in Grades 6 to 8.

Hola Padres de familia

Como Orientadora de 8o Grado de este año.

El colegio inicia el jueves 20 de agosto.
Las listas de clase estarán afuera de mi oficina (a la par de la oficina de secundaria) antes de las 7 am el jueves.
Sus hijos deben estar ya en sus tutorías listos para comenzar a las 7 a.m. 

Este año trabajaremos con un horario de dos semanas, semana A y semana B. Esta semana es semana A.

La primera clase inicia a las 7:20 a.m. y las clases tendrán una duración de 55 minutos cada una. Los estudiantes tendrán dos recreos, uno a las 10:05 a.m. y el otro a las 12:20 p.m. Es día termina a las 2:00 p.m. cuando los estudiantes se preparan para irse a casa a las 2:10 p.m., ellos pueden entonces ir a la biblioteca o unirse a una extracurricular o "Team Sports" hasta las 3:00 p.m.

Les pedimos que recojan a sus hijos a las 2:10 p.m. que es la nueva hora de salida.

Como Uds, saben el uniforme es para nosotros un gran orgullo por lo que esperamos que sus hijos lo vistan de igual manera. Estos están disponibles en la tienda escolar.

Varones:
pantalón color azul oscuro y camisa blanca con el logo. Corbata roja y pedimos traigan cincho, calcetines oscuros y zapatos negros de cuero ( No Crocs). El cabello debbidamente cortado alrededor de las orejas y no debe caer sobre el cuello.

Niñas: 
falda no mas corta de dos pulgadas arriba de la rodilla, blusa con logo, corbatita roja, calcetines blancos arriba de los tobillos y zapatos negros de cuero, (No Crocs). No pueden utilizar maquillaje ni traer las uñas pintadas.

El uniforme de deporte (pueden ver abajo) debe usarse los día de deporte que en su caso de lunes y miercoles para semana A y miércoles Semana B.

Les pedimos de manera especial que no les den  a sus hijos ni laptops ni tablets y si les dan celulares como les dijimos en la reunión les pedo que sean adecuados a su edad y les recuerdo que estos deberán apagarse al llegar al colegio y no encenderse hasta las 2:00 p.m. 

Les recuerdo también que deben llevar un candado con dos llaves - una para el tutor y una para ellos - puede ser de combinación pero recomendamos el de llave.

Deporte:
Camiseta de su tribu y shorts, zapatos correctos de deporte ( ver manual) gorra, calcetas blancas arriba deltobillo (no negras)

Natación:

Niñas: calzoneta de una pieza, gorro y sandalias. / Girls: full swimming suit, swimming cap and sandals

Varones: Calzoneta propia ( no shorts largos), gorro y sandalias. / Boys: proper swimming suit (not long shorts), sandals

ICTUna memoria USB

ArteSus maestras se lo indicarán/ you will be told by the teachers.
